Blaine granted judicial release after 60 days

A local man was granted judicial release from prison in Darke County Common Pleas Court on Thursday morning. Judge Jonathan P. Hein presided.

Matthew L. Blaine, 41, of New Madison, was previously sentenced to 18 months in jail, a $3,075 fine and a one year license suspension on one count of attempted vehicular assault, a third-degree felony and one count of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor.

After serving 60 days, the court granted the motion for early release, with 60 months of community control sanctions and court costs. If Blaine fails to comply he will be subject to a prison term of two to three years, and a mandatory supervision for three years under post release control.
