Arcanum volleyball ‘More Than Expected’

The Arcanum Lady Trojans volleyball program enters 2022 season with new coach

ARCANUM – The Arcanum Lady Trojans scrimmaged well Thursday night hosting the Troy Christian Lady Eagles in a non-conference volleyball scrimmage.

First year Lady Trojans head coach, Jacie Holman is starting her fourth year teaching at Arcanum and now takes over the Lady Trojans volleyball program. A Franklin Monroe graduate, Coach Holman played college volleyball for the NCAA DII Urbana University Lady Blue Knights.

“I am super excited,” said Holman. “I had some parents who were like – come on, do it.”

Graduation from the 2021 team has left many holes to fill going into the 2021 season for the new coach.

“Our theme for this year is ‘More Than Expected’ because a lot of people don’t expect us to come out and be as strong as we are,” said Holman. “I think we are going to surprise a lot of people with what talent we do have. I think we can be a big threat this year.”

Coach Holman is pleased with the attitude and response from the Lady Wave players.

“This is one of the best teams I have ever seen chemistry wise,” Coach Holman stated. “They bond, it’s natural, no one gets mad, no one gets upset. They want to better one another and that’s one of the things we are focusing on – you’re fighting for your spot every day and you’re bettering each other, not just yourself.”
